Mottlecah - Interesting Notes

  • Native to the south-west of Western Australia and noted for its large, spectacular red or pink flowers.

  • Mottlecah has the largest flowers of any eucalypt—huge, scarlet-red blooms up to 4” across.

  • Like many WA natives, Mottlecah can resprout after fire from underground lignotubers.

  • As an endemic wildflower, it embodies the uniqueness, beauty, and resilience of Western Australia’s natural heritage.
