About this Artwork
Coming Home is a personal series of images capturing the isolation, vastness and rugged beauty of landscapes around the South-West region of Western Australia; an area commonly referred to as 'Down South'. Returning to WA after an absence of 18 years was a strange experience. A combination of feeling home, but also one of feeling like a stranger after living in New York for a long period of time. Listening to the silence; the rustle of leaves and branches swaying in the wind, waves crashing on the shore, is a way of reconnecting and coming home to myself.
